Amasus is continuing its wind-assisted propulsion journey with a second installation of bound4blue’s eSAIL® technology. The latest retrofit has been completed onboard MV Fluvius Tavy at Astander Shipyard in Santander, Spain, where a 22-metre eSAIL® has installed, the largest suction sail ever fitted on a general cargo vessel.
This milestone follows their first installation on MV Eems Traveller, where bound4blue’s eSAILs® have shown strong operational performance and integrated smoothly into everyday operations. Based on that experience, they decided to take the next step and expand the application of wind propulsion within their short-sea fleet.
With Fluvius Tavy now equipped, they will move into the next phase: monitoring performance in service and building on what they continue to learn from operating wind-assisted propulsion across multiple vessels. They see wind propulsion as a practical and scalable pathway to support lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions in short-sea shipping.
Amasus would like to thank bound4blue and all partners and colleagues involved for the smooth coordination and professional execution of the installation. They look forward to seeing the impact this project will deliver.
